Public Astronomy Nights
Public Astronomy Nights are held at Farpoint Observatory, approximately 30 miles southwest of Topeka in Wabaunsee County. NEKAAL members will be on hand to answer questions and share the night sky.
How long has it been since you saw the stars under a really dark sky? When the Milky Way actually looked like milk? Come find out.
All public astronomy nights are cancelled if it is raining or too cloudy. Check within two hours of the event for cancellation updates.
General Meetings
NEKAAL’s General Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month, with the exception of November (3rd Thursday) and December (date announced separately). Guests are always welcome. These meetings are open to the public, free of charge, and usually include speakers or presentations on a wide range of astronomy topics. Meetings are also available online at meetings.nekaal.org.
Location: Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library, 10th and Washburn, Topeka KS
Board Meetings
Board meetings are held two hours before each public astronomy night, at Farpoint Observatory. Board members may also consult the groups.io board calendar for updates. To recommend an addition to the agenda, contact the Board Chair or President — see About NEKAAL.
